One of my Shits n’ Giggles creations actually got past the WIP stage and entered the done and dusted section, and although that fact in and of itself is quite amazing, the finished product was even more so… ahem, well it was alright I suppose 😉

Brainstorming Ideas for Crazy Customs

I’ve talked about the importance of not being afraid to try what may seem like outrageously stupid ideas when playing around with your various castings – the part of the process I like to call ‘Shits and Giggles’ – mainly because it’s these very stupid ideas that sometimes end up being the most badass of all. This particular custom is a great example – mind you I never thought the idea was particularly stupid to begin with but …. ummm, semantics? meh #closeenough

Anywho – here’s the original idea for this Radio Flying Drag’n Wagon – an idea I came up with 6 or 7 months ago now and never actually thought would see the light of day:

And Then I Was Inspired…

So inspired in fact that I finished the custom Hot-rod including all details within 48 hours. It would have been completed sooner but I had to paint the top section and although there was a few riveting hours spent watching it dry, all in all I just left it to its own devices and went and ate coco pops or something equally impressive.

The only change you will notice from the initial design concept you see above is the wheels. The fronts are using some M2 wheels because they are super skinny and fit the bill nicely, and the rears are from some random 1:55 scale Muscle car. The rears are even more perfect fit and I reckon give this custom rod that aggressive look needed (to at least prevent kids trying to put their toys inside and pull the damn thing around!)
